Sweet Potato Casserole

3 cups mashed sweet potatoes
1/2 stick of butter
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
2 eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla

Pour into casserole dish

Topping:
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/2 stick of butter
1 cup chopped pecans

Cut butter into flour. Add brown sugar, butter, and pecans. Spread on top of mashed sweet potatoes. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

***This is my late grandmother's recipe. I had forgotten about it til I found it the other day in a recipe book I had to make for Home Ec when I was a freshman in high school. This is the old fashion, southern recipe for sweet potato casserole. Yes, the kind that is a must at Thanksgiving and Christmas and throughout the fall months. It's truly a feel good dish.
