6 medium baking potatoes
2 T butter or margarine, melted
2 T vegetable oil
1 t seasoned salt
Cut each potato lengthwise into thirds; cut each portion into thirds. In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the butter, oil, and seasoned salt. Add potatoes; shake to coat. Place in a single layer on a greased baking sheet. Bake uncovered, at 450 for 20-25 minutes or until tender, turning once. Yield: 6 servings.
***Note: I used Olive Oil instead of vegetable to add a little more flavor and make it a little healthier. I also added a little more (to taste) oil, butter, and seasoned salt than it called it for. I did this because I sprinkled grated reduced~fat Parmesan cheese (the kind you put on spaghetti) in this mixture. The cheese will soak some of the oil and butter so that is why I added a little more.
I was very pleased with the taste. They were crunchy and not greasy. I was sceptical about my boys eating these because they weren't "real" french fries. But they loved them and asked for seconds. I served these with grilled hamburgers and will definitely make these again.
