I have a craving for this and just had to put it out here. Our Sunday School class has a little tradition that Ann started a while back. Every month we celebrate birthdays and everyone requests this dish for the class. For some special people, sometimes Ann makes an extra one for later. I thought I would share this recipe with everyone else too!
You Need:
2 cans of crescent rolls
1 pound of ground sausage
1 block of cream cheese
Brown the sausage, drain and mix with softened cream cheese. In a rectangular pan, make a bottom layer using one of the cans of crescent rolls. Spread the sausage/cheese mixture on the bottom layer. Top with another layer of crescent roll dough. Seal the edges of the bottom and top layers of dough around the sausage/cheese middle. Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes. Cut in squares and watch it disappear.
Variations: Add cheddar cheese to the middle layer. Brush top crescent layer with egg whites and sprinkle poppy seeds on top.
