Mississippi Roast

chuck roast (I use about 2 to 4 lb).
1 pkg
of Ranch dressing mix
1 pkg
of Au Jus mix
5
pepperocini peppers
1
stick of butter
Put
roast in crockpot.
Coat
with Ranch dressing mix.
Sprinkle
Au Jus mix over dressing mix.
Lay
stick of butter on top of the roast.
Place
peppers around the stick of butter on top of the roast
Do
Not Add Water. Cook on low for 7 to 8
hours.
***I don’t know the history
of this roast; why or how it gained the honor of bearing the name Mississippi. Maybe, the mere fact that it contains butter,
a whole stick at that, unlike any other roast I’ve tried or seen recipes for. Regardless,
the flavor of this roast represents Mississippi well.
