9 cups Rice Chex, Corn Chex, Chocolate Chex or Honey Nut Chex
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Measure Chex cereal into a large bowl and set aside
Microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter uncovered on high for 1 minute in a microwave safe bowl (about 1 quart). Stir and then microwave another 30 seconds or until mixture is smooth.
Stir in vanilla.
Pour mixture over cereal, carefully stirring until well coated. When coated pour into a 2 gallon bag or storage container.
Add powdered sugar. Seal bag or container. Shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool.
Store in airtight container in fridge.
***This sweet treat is AKA "puppy chow". It is a favorite of mine. I'm sure most of you have already made this, tasted it or seen the recipe floating around the internet or Chex cereal box. I added it to this blog for location purposes. I'm so used to keeping my recipes here so I can access them anywhere.
*The picture above is not mine. It is from the Betty Crocker website.
