1 loaf French bread from deli
1/2 lb of deli shaved meat (1/4 lb ham, turkey, or roast beef) 2 kinds of meat
(2) types of cheese (sliced cheddar and Swiss)
Cut loaf lengthwise. Put mustard (desired amount) on both sides of bread. Put meat and cheese on loaf. Add the other half to make a sandwich. Melt 1 stick of margarine. Cut loaf into 1 inch slices, cutting through top and part of the bottom (not cutting all the way through). Pour melted butter through slices. Cover and seal with foil. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Yields: 6 to 8 servings.
I use this sandwich as an alternative to the typical cold cut sandwiches. This sandwich is a great recipe for small groups. It was given to my family by a family friend, C. Manning.
